Celebrating everything your teen is, no matter what that looks like.

Your teen doesn’t know what they want, and neither do you. The conflicts seem constant, like they’re never happy, and you’re left wondering how to help. You can see anxiety beginning to affect their life: they’re losing sleep, trying to manage relationships, and grappling with their own identity. Teenagers are looking for a sense of belonging, and all life is throwing at them can make it hard for them to feel self-confident. They need a space where someone will listen and validate their feelings, without fear of judgment.

Understanding your child or teen’s behavior can be confusing, if not downright frustrating. I’m here to tell you that there is hope. As a therapist, we’ll look at how to change patterns of behavior, so teens can feel empowered to be their best selves and embrace their own identity. Equipped with the right tools and skills, they can replace their uncertainty about the future and how they fit in with a sense of confidence and acceptance of who they are.

I welcome you, your teens, and your younger children to join me in celebrating everything you are, no matter what it is. I fly my nerd flag high and would love for you to fly yours with me. Schedule a consultation to see if we’re a good fit.

  • EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping on parts of the body) to help people process traumatic memories and feel less affected by them in the present.

  • CBT focuses on reframing negative thought patterns and changing behaviors to improve mental health.

  • IFS helps clients explore different parts of their internal self, fostering self-awareness and helping them accept themselves as a whole.

MODALITIES

Sessions with me are…

Tailored to each person.

We might play games or nerd out about Star Wars and D&D before we dive into the tough stuff. The most important thing is your teen feels safe, accepted, and comfortable to explore what’s really going on. I typically schedule clients weekly or every other week to make sure no one is fighting for spots on my calendar.

My background

I received my Master’s of Science in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I have extensive experience in counseling with children and teens in school settings and specialize in anxiety and trauma. Here at Reflections, I also serve as a clinic mentor, intern supervisor, and member of the leadership team.

I’m gender nonconforming, so anyone can come as they are, knowing that I’ll show up authentically, too. Outside of work, you’ll catch me playing board games, RPGs, video games, or painting miniatures. I enjoy spending time with my spouse, our child, and our cat.
