Navigating the storms while learning to ride the waves.

Are you struggling to understand your child’s behavior? Maybe you’re here because all of your relationships feel disconnected and you’re not sure how things got to this point. Somewhere along the way, you stopped enjoying the things you used to and now find yourself saying “I don’t know what’s wrong with me” over and over again.

You feel like no one understands what you’re going through, and sometimes, you don’t even understand yourself. Maybe you’re noticing your child feels angry and stressed despite your best efforts to help them, and now you’ve reached the end of your rope. I want to assure you that you’ve come to a place where you’ll be seen, heard, and supported.

I enjoy working with a variety of ages, but I specialize in working with kids, teens, and young adults. My approach is collaborative, connecting with my clients in whatever way works for them—whether through discussion, play, creative expression, or movement. When working with children, parents will always be involved and encouraged to take part in the process. In our work together, you’re going to find an open-minded, nonjudgmental space where you can be exactly who you are and your children can feel safe, relaxed, and heard. Storms come into all of our lives, but I’m known for being a big believer in learning how to ride the waves. (I even have a wave tattoo!)

Every child, teen, young adult, and parent has specific needs, so I tailor the therapy process accordingly. We’ll work together to build better relationships and healthier routines, getting to a place where big emotions, feelings, or doubts don’t derail your entire day. The journey isn’t always going to be quick and simple, and that’s okay. I’ll show up with you wherever you’re at and journey alongside you wherever you want to go. Schedule a consult today.

  • CBT focuses on reframing negative thought patterns and changing behaviors to improve mental health.

  • ACT encourages accepting thoughts and feelings, even when they’re unpleasant, while committing to actions aligned with personal values.

  • EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping on parts of the body) to help people process traumatic memories and feel less affected by them in the present.

  • Expressive and therapeutic art allows people to explore their own creative process and gain insight into their past experiences and feelings through art.

  • IFS helps clients explore different parts of their internal self, fostering self-awareness and helping them accept themselves as a whole.

  • SMART integrates physical activities like using bean bags, trampolines, and weighted blankets to engage children and adolescents in movement and play, promoting healing and connection. It's often integrated into other therapeutic interventions.

MODALITIES

Sessions with me are…

Upbeat and motivating.

Upbeat and motivating. I like to bring humor to the table and have a flexible nature to help make therapy approachable and safe. Sessions are directive and collaborative, incorporating art, creativity, movement, and play. Parents will be involved throughout the entire process, including regular communication and a transparent game plan. Everything we do will be tailored specifically to what you or your child needs. Typically, I schedule appointments weekly or every other week This allows for you and your child to have consistency in this process.

My background

I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and my Master’s in Counselor Education with an emphasis in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater. I have extensive experience working with children, including those on the autism spectrum. I completed my internship with Reflections and I have previously worked at crisis centers, including outpatient and inpatient mental health centers. I’m also professionally affiliated with the American Counseling Association

Water is my comfort zone. In my spare time, you’ll find me kayaking, swimming, or reading next to a body of water. I’m also into reading, getting crafty, brushing up on my acoustic guitar skills, and jamming out to music. And it’s not uncommon to find me listening to P!nk on repeat throughout the day!
